Buddy needs a new home. We got him as a puppy from the pound when he was about 8 weeks old. He is now about a year and a half old. He is large. He weighs about 90+ lbs and stands quite tall and not a pound overweight. He is good natured and loves people. We believe he is a combination of lab, golden retriever and shepherd. He is licensed, "chipped" and has had all the regular and necessary shots in January/February of 2008 including rabies, Leptoseirosis vaccine, lime booster, Bordatella and he has been administered heartworm medication continuously since three months of age. He was recently tested for heartworm and the test was negative. As a puppy he had four training sessions at our home with Patti Malnick of "Happy Dawgs". He does follow some commands. He will sit and shake when properly rewarded.(even if he thinks he will get a reward) He sleeps in the house at night in the laundry room on a dog bed which he seems to like just fine. He is crate trained, but got too big for the crate we had. He spends parts of each day in a covered kennel run and likes his dog house . The balance of the day he just runs around our acreage but does not wander off. He loves to go for rides in the car, go for walks, and play fetch. We have three cats and for the most part they are not unduly afraid of him. But outside, if they run, he will chase after them. But inside, one of our larger cats once chased after him and he ran from the cat. He is quite oral and loves to chew on plastic and wood, and he likes to play with toys that squeak. I would also say that he is what I would call quite independent--probably at times more interested in pleasing himself than pleasing us and seems to think that everyone that comes to the house is surly there to visit and play with him.
