ESTHER 13-14 year old spayed yellow female 50 pounds Esther is the sweetest, most adorable dog you've ever met. We rescued her from the Bakersfield shelter where she was brought in as a stray. Obviously someone dumped her because she was old and they didn't want to deal with her anymore. How incredibly heartless people can be....but Rescue is thrilled to have this little girl (and she IS little). She is a happy girl who LOVES to go on walks. She has a real hop to her step when she sees the leash. She gets winded so can't walk too terribly long, but she so loves to go. She is completely housebroken and has the fun of her foster's home. She loves to lie on the couch but also loves her orthopedic foam dog bed. She is fine with other dogs (she is living with several) and cats. She's also very good on a leash and continually looks around to check and see if you're still there. She also tries to sit up on her haunches, especially if you're offering her a cookie, but tends to fall over when she does so you need to reach out and hold her front paws. She loves to do it. It's very cute. Her teeth are very very worn but she has no problem eating (is there any lab who does??). She loves her naps and just enjoys hanging out. She also bonds very very quickly. She just wants to belong to someone and is just so darling about it. We've had her completely checked out by the vet and although she has numerous lumps, none appear to be anything other than fatty tumors. Her blood work is fine. She is up to date on all her vaccinations and is ready to live out her "retirement" in a wonderful new home.
