Just Rescued!
Alexis is a young white pure toy poodle, 7 pounds. Volunteers needed to work for several hours on this poor little girl's coat. It was so matted that it came off like a floor rug in just three pieces. We can only imagine how uncomfortable this heavy weight of mats, burrs and dirt was, pulling at her skin and making every step as a stray so painful as she tried to survive on the streets. At first she was very scared as 2 volunteers shaved and dematted her. As she realized they were trying to help her and the discomfort would be short lived, she licked their hands in gratitude. We are adament that this sweet girl should never go through this again. Potential adoptors will need to show us that they have the funds and can make the commitment to have her groomed on a monthly basis. Poodles are intelligent and high-energy companions and benefit from ongoing training.
