Garfunkel and Dylan came to us so badly matted we couldn’t even guess as to their gender or see where their feet and ears ended. We needed to take them to our vets to be sedated and shaved down to the skin. This procedure took so long they charged us $400 per dog for the shave down. When we picked them up we found we had 2 handsome male dogs that were terrified of the world but never tried to bite. We are still uncertain of breed, although they look like they could be either  PBGV or have Tibetan Terriers in their heritage. We mentioned they were scared of the world, which is why we have them. The shelter was ready to euthanize them because they were so scared and matted. It is such a tragedy that dogs can be abused and lose their life thru no fault of their own but due to the negligence of their owner.  We at BDR will be looking to insure their future with financially stable guardians that are compassionate and kind and are willing to groom these longhaired dogs every 2 months. Every day Dylan and Garfunkel are embracing their new life and are making positive steps toward trusting staff and volunteers. We can pick them up bathe them and walk them on leash.
