What a beauty! Her breed mix has been a controversy among the staff. Currently our best guess is that she is a saluki mix. We base this on her very tall slender body, her silky coat and her gentle demeanor. We met Skylar at UC Davis Veterinary Hospital where she was an inpatient waiting to be spayed for Tehama Animal Shelter; we were enchanted. Then after spending half an hour in the kennel with her we knew we had to bring her to Big Dog Rescue. Skylar is good with all other dogs and has a gentle old soul nature where she just wants to be close. She achieves this not by barking, whining or scratching; she just waits quietly for you to notice her. Once invited to be petted she will full body lean to get as close as she can without being pushy. This is one special dog; we love her.
